“Remastered” gets thrown around a lot, so here’s what the word actually buys you on PC. Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge 4 Remastered is the first true technical upgrade in the Rugby Challenge series — live on Steam since 25 June 2026 as a free update for existing owners — and this is the full breakdown of what changed.

Native 4K at 60 frames per second

The headline act. The Remastered build runs at native 4K resolution and a smooth 60fps on modern hardware — not an upscale, not a resolution slider pushed to the right. Player models are more realistic, stadiums have been updated and the lighting has been rebuilt, so the game you remember for how it plays now holds its own on how it looks.

The Cross-Kick — and nine more ways to run a set play

The Remaster brings the set-play count to ten dynamic options, headlined by the brand-new Cross-Kick: pin the defence one side, then drop the ball on a wing in space on the other. Stacked on the series’ trademark passing game — smooth, dynamic, queue-a-pass-in-midair passing that fans rate the best in the genre — it gives the attack a genuinely new axis to plan around.

Sevens, doubled: 16 Men’s and Women’s teams

Sixteen international Sevens sides — Men’s and Women’s — across more than 12 competitions. Sevens is the fastest version of the sport and the Remaster treats it as a first-class mode, not a bonus bullet point.

Build your own game: Player Creator, Kit Creator, FanHub

The enhanced Player Creator and custom Kit Creator let you build your ultimate star and your own teams from boots to badge. Then the cross-platform FanHub puts a community behind it: share, download and rate players, teams and creations with everyone playing — on any platform. If you want your competition to look a particular way, somebody in the FanHub has probably already built it, and if they haven’t, you can.

Every mode, still here
